Hard to believe it'd had been one full year. Things have changed a lot since that day.
Mikey grew up. Not very much, but it would be unfair to deny him that much. He carried himself around in the same way as always but if you looked deeper than that you could see that a year of love, pain and quite a bit of alcohol had shaped him into a mature(ish) individual.
Val pursued her love of art straight out of high school and into a renowned art academy. It'd had been a rough road for her too but she wasn't letting anything hold her back from living life the way she wanted.
